La Bibliothèque in detail

The National Library opens its doors to you a few times a year for your events

From 1854 to 1875, Henri Labrouste—who had previously designed the Sainte-Geneviève Library—oversaw the construction of spaces specifically tailored to the library’s operations, including a reading room known as the Salle Labrouste and the central print storage facility. The current block is bounded by Richelieu, Colbert, Vivienne, and des Petits-Champs streets. The library has expanded there in successive phases, from the 18th century to the present day. Today, the Salle Labrouste offers an exceptional setting for hosting your events.
